I have always loved working with children, having got my first job as an apprentice in a nursery when I was 18 in Sheffield where I grew up. Fast forward over 10 years later and I am living in Shaftestbury with my husband and young daughter. I have a degree in Education studies and my most recent job was working as a HTLA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) in London. However, following my maternity my husband and I moved out of London for a more peaceful life, the idea of being a childminder was given to me originally by a friend as we discussed my post maternity leave plans and I havn’t looked back since, it was perfect. The idea of being my own boss, working from my own home and doing what I loved best- working in early years, seemed almost too good to be true! I wanted to spend as much time with my daugher as possible so decided I would begin my childminding business when she turns one, contrary to popular belief of course I would spend time with my daughter as I work from home but with my experience working in nurseries and reception I knew I wouldn’t be able to dedicate all my time to her as I would have lots of little ones around. I am also so very lucky that my daugher absolutely loves it when her friends come to play 🙂
Deciding the name Bluebells was easy, it is the name of the road we live on, this saved me a lot of time trying to choose a name! I do think its a perfect name for my little business.
